Agassiz Baldwin Afterschool Dance Specialist, Sunny Hitt, will be offering two new dance sessions for students enrolled in the afterschool program:

Creative Movement for grades K – 2
Schedule: Begins Wednesday, March 24th and continues for 10 weeks. In this class we will explore space, shape, rhythm, and levels through movement. Students will gain confidence, strength, flexibility, spatial awareness and grace. This class will incorporate music and props, allowing students to explore their range of movement and creativity while having fun!

Visual Art as Moving Art for grades 3 – 5
Schedule: Begins Monday, March 22 and continues for 10 weeks. This spring we will be collaborating with Harvard’s Sackler Museum. Each visit, we will visit a different area of the museum, exploring ancient art and dance from India and China, modern art, sculpture, and more. Students will learn about shapes, lines, and design, cultures from around the world and their narratives, and how these ideas can be translated into movement. The class will culminate with a performance of a movement piece created by the students, inspired by artwork from the museum.

COST: Each 10-week session will cost: $135 to be billed to your account. Classes are first come, first served and spaces are limited.

TO REGISTER: Sign up forms can be found near the sign out sheets in both programs as well as here. Sunny will offer a “try-it-on” class for all interested students the first week.
