Fred Meyer, ABC Board
Fred Meyer has lived in our Agassiz neighborhood since 1959. He is a graduate of Yale and also attended Harvard Law and Divinity Schools. He founded University Real Estate, Harvard Square in 1963 and served, in different decades, as President of the Cambridge, Greater Boston, and Massachusetts Associations of Realtors. He is also a MA Certified Residential Real Estate Appraiser.
Besides serving on the ABC Board, Fred is a trustee of the Boston Wagner Society, and of the “Society for Propagation of the Gospel Among Indians and Others in North America,” founded in 1787, which supports education for Native American Indian churches, as one of the oldest-continuing charities in the country. He is one of the 300 members of the Back Bay’s St. Botolph Club, founded in 1880, known for its support of history and the arts.
Fred and his wife Maria have enjoyed their house on Hammond Street, one block from Harvard, since 1971. Over the years, he has walked to many courses, lectures and events at the conveniently-adjacent campus.
