Alice Turkel, Preschool Art Specialist
Alice Turkel has taught woodworking and other crafts to students from pre-school through college age. She has teaching experience in public school, private school, afterschool and summer camp settings. She has received three grants from the Cambridge Arts Council for her work with public school children.
Alice worked for many years as a stage carpenter and then a cabinetmaker before attending Boston University’s Program in Artisanry, where she completed her bachelor’s degree in Woodworking and Furniture design. Alice is deeply invested in education for children and has served six terms as a member of the Cambridge School Committee.
