Valerie Mendez, MMA Site Coordinator
Valerie Mendez has a background in art and education, she graduated from Savannah College of Art and Design in 2006 with a degree in Graphic Design. Shortly after she found a passion for working with children, when she moved to Japan to teach English in junior high and elementary schools. In 2010, Valerie moved back to the United States, and earned a Masters Degree in Art Education from Tufts University. She has worked in both public schools and informal learning settings. Before her position of Site Coordinator at Maud Morgan Arts, Valerie worked as a Museum Educator at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, and as a Lead Art Studio Teacher at four Bright Horizons Preschool and Early Education Centers.
Valerie enjoys exploring and creating new types of art, playing volleyball, running, and making the most of the snowy Boston winters by skiing and snowboarding.
