Elder abuse takes many forms from both known and unknown perpetrators. The World Health Organization (WHO) has adopted this definition of elder abuse: a single, or repeated act, or lack of appropriate action, occurring within any relationship where there is an expectation of trust, which causes harm or distress to an older person.
Today’s focus is abuse by a trusted loved one. If you suspect abuse, contact the Elder Abuse Prevention Project at 617-603-2700
