The snow has settled and you’ve noticed that, for the past few days, a nearby home’s front sidewalk remains un-passable. What’s a concerned neighbor to do? One option is to download this handy, anonymous note created by the ANC to alert your neighbor as to why it’s a good idea to keep the sidewalks clear of snow and ice for people of all mobilities! Just click, download, print, and cut.

40th Annual Thanksgiving Potluck Revisited

ABC extends thanks to this year’s eight turkey cookers, four turkey carvers, Agassiz Baldwin staff, Maria L. Baldwin School custodial and kitchen staff, and all who donated a dish and contributed company and conversation to our 40th Annual Thanksgiving Potluck Feast. CPD Secret Santa for Seniors

Agassiz community members are invited to contribute to the Cambridge Police Department’s (CPD) Secret Santa for Seniors program. ABC will host a collection box at 20 Sacramento Street in the foyer until Thursday, December 15.

Some suggestions for unwrapped gifts include:
Chocolate
Socks
Jams
Slippers
Puzzles
Hats
Gloves
Gift Cards
Tea
Large Print Books
Sweaters
Hard Candy
Crackers
Lip Balm
Red Sox/Bruins/Celtics items

Senior citizens will be selected with the assistance of the Cambridge Senior Centers and Cambridge Housing caseworkers, who have the knowledge to identify people who do not have immediate family members nearby and who have very limited financial resources.

The gifts will be hand delivered on December 24, 2011 by Cambridge Police Officers and other community volunteers. It is their hope to brighten the day of otherwise lonely seniors on Christmas with a small gift that lets them know they are not forgotten!

Kids Only Holiday Sale 2011

On Monday, December 5, 2011, children are encouraged to swing by the popular, annual Kids Only Holiday Sale. Fun, affordable gifts for family and friends can be purchased in this safe and supportive environment. From journals to stuffed animals to holiday cards to jewelry and handmade crafts, the sale offers something for everyone.

Held in the Chandler Gallery, proceeds from the sale benefit Agassiz Baldwin Children’s Programs: Sacramento Street Preschool, Agassiz Baldwin Afterschool, and Outback Summer Program. Learn more at www.agassiz.org.

LWN Indoor Soccer

This winter, team up with the Living Well Network for indoor soccer! Weekly pick-up games will be held one night a week from 7 to 9 PM for residents over age fifty. 40th Annual Thanksgiving Potluck Feast

Please join us for our 40th Annual Thanksgiving Potluck Feast. We invite everyone from the Agassiz neighborhood, Agassiz Baldwin Children’s Programs, and Maria L. Baldwin School communities to come together for an evening of celebration, good company, and delicious food.

When: Tuesday, November 22nd, 5:30 pm-7:30 pm
Where: Baldwin School Dining Hall, 28 Sacramento St.

ABC supplies the turkey, generously cooked by volunteers in their own ovens. Neighbors and friends are encouraged to bring a side dish ample enough for their family and a few more to share. We look forward to seeing everyone and enjoying food inspired by one another’s family traditions.

There will be activities for children to enjoy, but parents are responsible for their children while at the event.
