			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Agassiz community members are invited to contribute to the <a href="http://www2.cambridgema.gov/cpd/" target="_blank">Cambridge Police Department</a>’s (CPD) Secret Santa for Seniors program.  ABC will host a collection box at 20 Sacramento Street in the foyer until <strong>Thursday, December 15</strong>.  </p>
<p>Some suggestions for unwrapped gifts include:<br />
Chocolate<br />
Socks<br />
Jams<br />
Slippers<br />
Puzzles<br />
Hats<br />
Gloves<br />
Gift Cards<br />
Tea<br />
Large Print Books<br />
Sweaters<br />
Hard Candy<br />
Crackers<br />
Lip Balm<br />
Red Sox/Bruins/Celtics items</p>
<p>Senior citizens will be selected with the assistance of the <a href="http://www2.cambridgema.gov/DHSP2/coaprograms.cfm?tnltext=Senior%20Center%20Programs" target="_blank">Cambridge Senior Centers</a> and <a href="http://www.cambridge-housing.org/" target="_blank">Cambridge Housing</a> caseworkers, who have the knowledge to identify people who do not have immediate family members nearby and who have very limited financial resources.</p>
<p>The gifts will be hand delivered on December 24, 2011 by Cambridge Police Officers and other community volunteers.  It is their hope to brighten the day of otherwise lonely seniors on Christmas with a small gift that lets them know they are not forgotten!</p>

Where: Baldwin School Dining Hall, 28 Sacramento St.</p>
<p>ABC supplies the turkey, generously cooked by volunteers in their own ovens. Neighbors and friends are encouraged to bring a side dish ample enough for their family and a few more to share. We look forward to seeing everyone and enjoying food inspired by one another’s family traditions.</p>
<p>There will be activities for children to enjoy, but parents are responsible for their children while at the event.</p>
