Scholarships
Scholarship Program Goals
The Agassiz Baldwin Community (ABC) is committed to providing accessible, high quality children’s programs. We value strongly a diverse population and strive to maintain an environment that reflects economic, racial and cultural diversity. To help achieve this end, we have funds allocated for scholarships for:
- Agassiz Baldwin Children’s Programs (Sacramento Street Preschool, Agassiz Baldwin Afterschool, Outback Summer Program)
- Maud Morgan Arts
Application Procedure for Agassiz Baldwin Children’s Programs
Eligibility
Before submitting a scholarship application, families should download the application and read through the eligibility guidelines. Children’s Programs participants are given priority for scholarships when all adult members of the household work full time or attend a full time employment training program. Please see guidelines for detailed information on eligibility and required financial documentation.
Applications should be submitted with full documentation by the following dates:
Sacramento Street Preschool – April 15
Outback Summer Program – April 15
Agassiz Baldwin Afterschool – July 1
All applications will be reviewed after the deadline and decisions will be made in a timely manner. Late applications will be considered if funding allows, but we cannot guarantee a scholarship award. Returning parents must re-apply each year.
How Scholarships are Funded
The amount of money available for scholarships will be determined annually by the board of the Agassiz Baldwin Community. Additional grant money is also raised to expand scholarships and for special scholarship programs.
Vouchers & Other Assistance
ABC accepts vouchers distributed through Child Care Resource Center. Scholarship applicants who meet voucher income eligibility should first apply for a voucher, since they usually pay a higher percentage of tuition than ABC scholarships. Many churches, organizations and work places, including universities, also have scholarship programs. We urge all scholarship applicants to pursue these programs if available to them.
