Gao-Wen Shao, Board Treasurer
Gao (she/her) and her husband have lived in Cambridge for over 30 years. Their children attended Cambridge Public Schools and the ABC/MLBCC Afterschool, Outback, and Maud Morgan programs.
Before retiring from a full-time career in 2023, Gao worked in financial services and management consulting, at Fidelity Investments and Bank of America Merrill Lynch, and two consulting firms founded in Cambridge.
Gao is active in the Cambridge community, for causes such as The Children’s Clothing Exchange and The Spot, Food for Free, The Materials Aid and Assistance Program, and the Cambridge Literacy Program. She volunteers in their daily operations and as an advisor. In addition, she has held alumni leadership roles for Wesleyan University. She graduated from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and Wesleyan University.
