Volunteers and Interns
Join our Board of Directors
If you feel a connection to the mission of MLBCC and are looking for meaningful volunteer work, consider joining our Board of Directors! We are especially in need of a Treasurer and Parent Representative. Click here for more information. Interested candidates should email a statement of interest and a resume to our Co-Executive Director Maria LaPage.
Volunteer for the Living Well Network
In late September, the Living Well Network, our program for older adults, will start weekly walks for our community members. The Monday and Friday walks at 11 AM need volunteer leaders. Leaders will email other participants, gather weekly with other participants and help the group decide where to walk that week, always starting from the same spot. If interested, email Living Well Network manager Kathy Dalton.
Run the Cambridge Half Marathon to Support MLBCC
CambridgeSide just announced the return of their charity race program for this year’s Cambridge Half Marathon and 5K! Both races are on Sunday, November 5, 2023 @ 7AM. Charity runners will pay a discounted fee of $50 for their bibs, and there is no fundraising minimum. Every donation helps support all of our work. To learn more or sign up, email Taylor Mortell, Director of Development & Impact.
Afterschool Program and Community Interns
Our organization has experience partnering with local institutions to offer internship placements for individuals ranging from high school through graduate school students. Field experience in our afterschool programs is offered in exchange for course credit for both undergraduate and graduate students. Like our staff, interns must be vaccinated against COVID19 and submit to a background check through the Department of Early Education and Care. Interested students should contact interns@agassiz.org to discuss the opportunity.
Current partnerships include Cristo Rey High School, Community Charter School of Cambridge, Lesley University, and Simmons University. Interested field work advisors and program directors should contact Ashley at ayee@agassiz.org to discuss potential future partnerships.
