About Kids Only Holiday Sale

Begun in 1986, the Kids Only Holiday Sale provides an opportunity for school-age children to purchase gifts for family and friends in a safe, supportive, and fun environment. The Maria L. Baldwin Community Center views the event as an opportunity for children to learn how to use money as well as to enjoy the benefits of gift-giving.

The annual sale is hosted in early/mid December and features a wide variety of affordable items that make great gifts for all ages, from kitchen gadgets, stuffed animals, and eco-friendly wares to handmade crafts by MLBCC students. The sale is cash only, and individual item prices will be capped at $20.

Proceeds support the Equity & Access Scholarship Fund which provides scholarships to children and adults living in poverty or lower middle-income households to participate in Afterschool, Outback Summer Program, art classes at Maud Morgan Arts, and Living Well Network offerings.

How to Participate

The Kids Only Holiday Sale is open to the general public as well as to children participating in Maria L. Baldwin Community Center Programs. Parents, grandparents, guardians, aunts, uncles, cousins – bring the young people in your life! As per our tradition, only children (0-18) and MLBCC teaching staff may enter the sale space, but very young children (0-6) can invite adults to accompany them if they need extra help making a selection.

Grown ups are invited to visit Maud’s Handmade Holiday Market (which runs simultaneously in the Maud Morgan Arts building just behind 20 Sacramento Street) to shop unique, handcrafted goods made by our very own staff!

Support the Kids Only! Holiday Sale

In years past, much of our inventory was generously donated by the store Joie de Vivre. Since it closed in November 2020, we’ve had to collect donations from many other local businesses for sale inventory. To keep this beloved tradition going, we are turning to YOU, our incredible community, to help us make the magic happen this year!

Here is how you can help:

  1. Sign up here to donate new and like new items for the sale by Monday, December 2nd. The earlier the better, so we can plan ahead!
  2. If you don’t have items to contribute, you can support the sale by making a donation today to help us purchase inventory from local businesses– our goal is to raise $500 by Thursday, November 21st!

If you have any questions about how you can support the sale this year, please email Taylor Mortell, Director of Development & Impact, at tmortell@agassiz.org
