“Glacier” Opens at Sacramento Street Gallery This Friday
The Sacramento Street Gallery is proud to present, “Glacier” by Diane Charyk Norris at the Sacramento Street Gallery.
The show runs from April 19 through May 21, 2010. Gallery hours are from 10 AM – 5 PM on weekdays.
Ms Norris says of her work: “My current work explores a landscape realm of water, ice, and glaciers. The pictures are based on a recent visit to natural places of extraordinary power, beauty, and timelessness, which are currently caught in a state of unexpected change and fragility. I am drawn to the immediate abstraction of line and space, multiple layers of seeing, enormous changes in scale, and the suggested meaning that this environment offers. I work in inks, charcoal, watercolor, oil, acrylics, and photography.”
Diane Charyk Norris pursues a life of painting, drawing, and photography and shares a waterfront and residential architectural practice with her husband. She received a Master of Architecture and Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting from the University of Pennsylvania. She continues her art education at SMFA Boston and her paintings were featured in “Moments of Water”, a solo show at the Paul Dietrich Gallery last year. She is a Baldwin and Haggerty parent and her children are enthusiastic participants of the Agassiz Baldwin Community programs.
