Dear Legislators and Elected Officials,
Due to space restrictions at the Cambridge Senior Center, and the expectation for a healthy turnout of Cambridge residents, MassDOT will be changing the location of the MBTA Public Hearing on Wednesday, February 29th to the Cambridge City Hall Council Chambers. The City of Cambridge has been kind to offer this space as an alternative and has committed to providing the necessary accommodations for a large crowd. Our staff will follow the regularly scheduled program starting at 6 pm and continue until 8 pm (or until the last speaker has concluded their remarks).
Given the expectation for increased turnout, MassDOT and the MBTA respectfully request your help in spreading the word about this change in venue. As with all of our public meetings, we want to make sure that the public is not only well informed about the date, time and location but also has the opportunity to express their opinions directly to MassDOT staff. All attendees will be asked to sign-in and if they would like to speak, will be asked to take a number on a first-come, first-served basis. We would greatly appreciate any notification that you could provide to constituents, residents and commuters.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. We look forward to a great meeting.
All the Best,
Jefferson R. Smith
Legislative Director
Massachusetts Department of Transportation
