Hoola hoopers 2011Beginning July 2 and running through August 24, Outback 2012 promises to keep children engaged and inspired through a variety of arts activities, as well as physical activities, in our shady backyard.

Outback is open to students entering kindergarten through six grades in September of 2012. Children have the opportunity to enjoy dance, drama, the visual arts, and sports, as well as several special events and performances. Additionally, we will take weekly field trips to area beaches, including Crane’s Beach, Singing Beach, and Spectacle Island.

Outback 2012 Theme: Time Travel
Each year, Outback plans activities around a theme to engage children in a sense of wonder about the world we live in through science, art, cooking, sports, drama, and dance. The 2012 theme “Time Travel” will have Outbackers using their imaginations and creativity to travel to new worlds from the past, present, and future to explore cities, ancient sports, outer space, and more.

Maud Morgan Art Classes
New this year, Outbackers who are entering 5th and 6th grade in the fall of 2012 will have the opportunity to attend Outback Summer Program for a half day, and spend the other half attending intensive, high quality art classes at the Maud Morgan Art Center located right in our backyard. These art classes will give older children an opportunity to use and experience the beautiful studios and be taught by professional artists. Separate registration is not required. For the class schedule, please visit the Maud Morgan website.
