Road Reconstruction and Paving Work on Forest Street- October 18
A Notice from Cambridge Department of Public Works:
On Thursday, October 18th (weather permitting), crews will begin full depth road construction On Forest Street (from Frost Street and Oxford Street)
Phase 2: Forest St (Frost Street to Oxford Street) – starting Thursday, October 18th (weather permitting) During construction, Forest Street will be CLOSED to through traffic. Any vehicles in driveways with in this area must be removed in the beginning of the work day (7:00 am). The Contractor will work with each homeowner in order to ensure that residents have access at the end of each day.
Phase 3: Forest St (Oxford Street to the Somerville line) – starting Monday, October 29th (weather permitting)
Project Schedule
- Each Phase of Construction is expected to last 1 week.
- Notices will be sent out before the next Phase begins.
- Work hours are 7 am to 4 pm, Monday through Friday.
Traffic Plan during Construction
- Forest Street will be closed from Mass Ave to Oxford Street.
- Emergency vehicles will have access at all times.
What to Expect during Construction
- “No Parking” signs will be posted; please be sure to check dates/times. Traffic signs and police
- details will be in place to assist neighbors.
- Pedestrian access and access into properties will be maintained at all times, with minor
- interruptions.
