Maud Morgan Arts Students Make Some Noise at the Annual HONK! Parade
Though Massachusetts Avenue is usually known for its slow-moving traffic and perpetual stoplights, on October 13th the thoroughfare will come alive with banners, costumed revelers, and 30 brass bands for the annual HONK! Parade to Reclaim the Streets for Horns, Bikes and Feet.
At Maud Morgan Arts, community members of all ages will gather to decorate masks and hats before joining the parade as it passes. A pizza lunch will fuel the marchers, and Maud Morgan Arts teacher Emily Somma will be on hand to assist the youngest participants with glue and scissors. The HONK! Parade’s celebration of community creativity resonates with Maud Morgan Arts’ mission to encourage artistic expression across generations and make high-quality visual arts education accessible to everyone.
The Maud Morgan Arts HONK! Parade Mask Workshop begins at 11:00 am at Maud Morgan Arts, 20 Sacramento Street, Cambridge.
