App workshop: Yonward (yonward.com), is a free app (for iPhones and iPads) for creating, publishing, sharing, and experiencing guides that expose the interesting things around us that are often hiding in plain sight. Yonward uses GPS to present information in-real-time and makes use of photos, audio clips, and short videos. Over 200 free guides, covering topics from history to sports to local food, are currently available.
Yonward can be downloaded FREE from the Apple iTunes store. ![]()
This is an Apple-only app, but iPads will be available for use on a
first-come-first-served basis.
Community walk: Cathy Weller, long-time resident, editor of the Agassiz Neighborhood Paths, and experienced guide, will lead a tour of neighborhood to highlight historic, cultural, and artistic sites you may not have known existed. Bring your smartphone or device and use Yonward to create your own guide to share.
