In January, Cory Shea will become the new Director of Maud Morgan Arts. According to Maria LaPage, the Executive Director of Maud Morgan Arts’ parent organization, Agassiz Baldwin Community, Shea brings “a wealth of experience with the Cambridge arts scene as well as a great deal of enthusiasm” to her new role.

Shea holds a masters degree in Arts Administration from Boston University and has served as the Assistant Director of the Cambridge Arts Association since 2011. Her artwork has appeared in galleries across New England, including Fountain Street Fine Art, the Arsenal Center for the Arts, and the Nave Gallery Annex.

Shea replaces Haley MacKeil, who has led Maud Morgan Arts since 2016 and recently left to pursue opportunities in Berlin, Germany. “Cory’s care and commitment to our mission-driven organization is very much in line with her own commitment to the arts,” says MacKeil. According to MacKeil, Shea understands the vital role that Maud Morgan Arts plays in the lives of Cambridge-area artists.

Shea will continue to expand Maud Morgan Arts programming, collaborations with local organizations, and scholarship support for students who could not otherwise afford arts education. MacKeil adds: “Cory’s enthusiasm and kindness will go a long way.”
