Remembering the Sugar Maple

This past spring, a much-appreciated, old sugar maple tree located behind the community center died and had to be removed. Stephen Diamond, ABC Board Director and ANC Meeting Chair, created this photo essay to remember the tree.

Here is the story of how we chose to preserve the tree’s memory.

Here is the good, old tree that died:

It was cut down and one of our teachers thought of a great idea:

“Lets remember and enjoy it by making play steps out of it.”

And we did.
