There is a growing need for housing that both accommodates and warmly welcomes LGBTQ-identified seniors, particularly for those who aren’t well-heeled. LGBTQ anti-discrimination language is not spelled out in many housing laws. Activists are concerned about queerphobic leadership on the national level and what that means for housing policy as more LGBTQ age with the expectation and right to live openly and safely no matter what they call home.
