Dear Families and Friends of Agassiz Baldwin Community,

We are very pleased to announce a new director for the children’s programs at ABC. Our decision has been made thoughtfully, and we feel very fortunate to have such a talented staff to promote from within the agency. We understand that transitions within the leadership in our programs requires special attention, and we want to assure all that we are here to assist and support you and our staff during this time.

Maria Laine is being promoted to the Director of Children’s Programs effective today. She has been with the agency for three years and is currently in her second year as the 1st-5th grade Afterschool Site Director. Maria brings her passion and enthusiasm for children to her work at ABC. Maria has a B.A. from Beloit College in Wisconsin with a dual degree in Elementary Education and Sociology. Prior to working here, Maria taught math in the public school in Minnesota. We are in process with hiring Maria’s replacement at this time, so she will continue to support the afterschool program as site director in the short-term.
