Agassiz Neighborhood Council needs your help! Come to our next council meeting on Wednesday, November 17 at 7:30 PM (Maud Morgan Arts Center, 20A Sacramento Street) to discuss the possible actions ANC should take to keep sidewalks passable for all residents.
Should ANC:
- Ask the city to clear ALL sidewalks, and get an estimate of the effect this will have on the tax rate?
- Ask the city to only clear major streets’ sidewalks and corners?
Also , ANC seeks volunteers to help research how comparable cities handle snow removal on sidewalks. To volunteer, email psinclair@agassiz.org or call (617) 349-6287 x10.
At the meeting, discuss which of the existing clearing methods you support:
- Individual property owners clear sidewalks
- “Adopt a Sidewalk” and “Adopt a Corner”
- Street residents organize to purchase snow blower and hire worker
- Community arranges for a group discount (i.e. ABC’s Living Well Network Snow Removal Program)
- Individual owners hire contractor or students
- If elderly, disabled, or handicapped – can request that the city clear show (call Cambridge Council on Aging at (617) 349-6220)
