Agassiz Afterschool Hosts Free “Artist of Color Music Series”
The Community Music Outreach Program in Cambridge is currently in its 30th year and provides free, small group music lessons on Appalachian dulcimer and folk guitar to children in after-school settings. Agassiz Baldwin Afterschool will begin offering these lessons to 4th and 5th graders on Tuesdays starting October 19th.
As part of this program, the Afterschool will host a monthly, on-site “Artist of Color Concert Series” sponsored by the Community Music Outreach Program that celebrates diversity and presents authentic and interactive performing groups from Peru, Africa, Caribbean, Ireland, Spain and China. These performances will be free for all after school students to attend from 4:30-5:15pm.
