Play-day-popcorn-copyrightMWoodsA spring event to celebrate the community, join us at Play Day: A Community Party and get a head start on Father’s Day fun! Spend a delightful summer afternoon in our shady backyard. Free and fun for children and adults.

When: Saturday, June 14, 1:00-4:00 pm, rain or shine
Where: backyard of 20 Sacramento Street, Cambridge

Schedule
2:00-3:00 pm
Listen to Americana and folk tunes from afterschool teacher Duncan Pelletier’s band

2:30-3:30 pm
Gaze in wonder as Balloon Twister Wendy transforms a balloon into your favorite animal

3:00-3:30 pm
Watch a performance from our very own Agassiz Afterschool Dance Crew

3:30-4:00 pm
Raffles – great prizes to popular area shops and restaurants such as Abodeon, Irish Imports, Cambridge Common, and Temple Bar

All day (1:00-4:00 pm)

  • Embark on a scavenger hunt to visit all the activity stations
  • Create a tie-dye banner at Maud Morgan Arts
  • Visit the Pop-Up Portrait Studio with photographer Dennis O’Reilly
  • Snack on crunchy popcorn and juicy watermelon
  • Marvel at the artwork on display at the closing reception of “New Perspectives,” an exhibit curated by Agassiz Baldwin Afterschool students
  • Relax with a cup of coffee at the Living Well Network Cafe
  • Enter our raffle to win gift cards to local restaurants, bookstores, arts and crafts retailers and clothing boutiques (proceeds benefit the Agassiz Baldwin Community Children’s Programs Scholarship Fund)
  • Enter to win a door prize by signing our mailing list
  • Enjoy bocce, face painting, big blue blocks, giant bubbles and more!
